Kitui Town Campus is one of the satellite campuses of South Eastern Kenya University, situated in Kitui Town, within the Manyenyoni-BLI area, about 600 m off the Kitui-Mutomo road. The campus was started in 2010 on the 3rd and 4th floor of Mututo building. In the year 2014, the Campus was later moved to John Ngonde building in the heart of Kitui town on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor along Kilungya street. In 2020, the campus was moved to its current location upon completion of the new state of the art building built with the support of the Kenya government.

The Campus has the necessary facilities required for a conducive learning environment including 18 lecture rooms of varied sizes to accommodate different class sizes, a computer lab and a well-stocked library, internet facilities, e-learning resources, staff offices and a lecturer’s lounge. The Campus also boasts of modern amenities and facilities including a cafeteria that supports both the staff and students, a health unit, clean washrooms, adequate security and generally a cool serene environment for learning. The campus is run by a Campus Director with 10 permanent staff of different cadres and roles.

Kitui Town Campus is the home for the university’s School of Business and Economics which is headed by a Dean, with three departments chaired by Heads of Departments namely: Department of Business and Entrepreneurship, Department of Economics and Department of Management Science. The three departments offer business related courses at the Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. In addition, the campus provides regular and weekend based modes of study for certificate, diploma and postgraduate levels in the following schools: School of Agriculture, Environment, Water and Natural Resources, School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Sciences and Computing. Currently, the campus has a population of about 1200 Students.
